Dental Crowns
A crown is a tooth-shaped “cap” which is placed over a tooth to cover it and restore its shape, size, strength, and appearance.
The crown, when cemented into place, fully encases the entire visible portion of a tooth. Crowns can be made from a number of different materials. Some materials used here are Gold, Silver, Porcelain fused to Metal, and All Ceramic. All of these materials make great crowns, and if a crown is needed, the dentist will help you decide which crown would work best for you. Some factors we consider are esthetics, any crowns adjacent to or opposing the new crown, or if a patient has a heavy bite or grinds their teeth.
